Here are a few things to keep in mind when uploading your photo: For best results, upload the original, highest-quality photo available. Low-resolution, blurry, dark, or heavily compressed photos may result in less detail or contrast in the engraving. Your Photo Preview The preview is designed to give you a general idea of placement and appearance. We receive your original rectangular photo—not the exact crop shown in the preview. Our designers will make the final adjustments to cropping, orientation, placement, and layout to best fit your individual wood plaque while keeping the important subjects visible. Having trouble fitting everyone inside the preview? Don't worry! We'll use our best judgment when positioning your original photo. For photos where the subjects fill most of the image, Background Removal may also help us create a better fit. Sizes Because every natural wood slice is unique and may not be perfectly round, sizing is based on the longest side (height or width): Medium: 7–9" Large: 9–11" X-Large: 11–13.5" Natural Wood & Engraving Variation Every plaque is made from real wood, making each piece truly one of a kind. Natural variations in wood grain, shape, color, and softness—as well as differences between photos—can cause the finished engraving to vary slightly in placement, clarity, contrast, and darkness. We may make minor adjustments to your photo, including enhancement or background removal, when we believe it will produce a better engraving. Clear Glaze Finish Clear Glaze often enhances the wood and helps deepen the appearance of the engraving. Results vary depending on the wood and original photo, so a darker engraving cannot be guaranteed. Special Requests Have instructions for us? Personalized Order Policy Because each plaque is custom-made from your photo, personalized orders are generally non-returnable and non-refundable once production has begun.
